===== PUBLIC NOTICE =====

On May 14, 2018 an incident was reported to the Miami Junior Senior High School principal in the early afternoon.  The report consisted of two students that may have had weapons and were making threats.  Within 90 seconds of the report, the two students were apprehended.  An investigation was completed and the students have been removed from school for the remainder of the year.  Based on the possible threats, the Gila County Sheriff’s office has committed to have additional officers on campus during eighth grade promotion.

RE: Number of Educational Minutes

The administration team has reviewed the required minutes set by the Arizona Department of Education. We have verified that we will have adequate number of minutes and will not need to hold school for students on May 18, 2018. Thank you for your ongoing support for your child’s education. The last day of school will be May 24, 2018 for students.

*As required by ARS 15-321 you are officially notified of an organizational meeting of the Miami Unified School District NO. 40 Governing Board to take place at the regular Board Meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018.
This meeting will be held in the Miami High School Library.
